Part-time CFO

Part-time CFO in Tunisia: experienced finance leadership, sized to your company.

Many Tunisian subsidiaries of foreign groups and growing companies have outgrown bookkeeping but do not yet justify a full-time chief financial officer. MGI BFC provides an experienced CFO one or several days a week, backed by the firm's full team: your company gets the finance function of a large group, at the rhythm and scale that fit it.

Who it is for

  • Subsidiaries of foreign groups that need a credible local finance counterpart for the parent company, without hiring a full-time CFO
  • Growing SMEs whose founder spends too much time on finance and not enough on the market
  • Companies preparing a fundraising, a transmission or a major investment that must professionalise their reporting
  • Businesses under cash pressure or renegotiating with banks, needing a solid plan and interlocutor
  • Family groups structuring financial governance across several entities

What your part-time CFO does

Cash management

Rolling cash forecasts, collection and commitment tracking, working capital action plan, anticipation of tax and social deadlines.

Reporting and dashboards

Design then monthly production of decision-grade reporting: margins by activity, key indicators, budget variance, alerts. In the group's format and language for subsidiaries.

Banking relations and financing

Credit files, negotiation of lines and guarantees, covenant monitoring, regular dialogue with your banks.

Budget and profitability

Annual budget, periodic reviews, variance analysis, costing of decisions (investment, hiring, pricing), profitability improvement.

Supervision of the accounting function

Oversight of your internal team or bookkeeping firm, reliable closings, procedures, segregation of duties, audit preparation.

Strategic projects

Fundraising or sale preparation, business plan, data room, investor dialogue, with immediate relay to our transaction advisory team.

How we work

1. Diagnostic. A short review of your finance function: cash, reporting, team, tools, risks. Delivered with a prioritised roadmap.

2. Cadence. A rhythm that fits your size: from one day a month to several days a week, on site and remote, under a clear and reversible engagement letter.

3. One CFO, a whole firm. Your CFO draws on the firm's teams (accounting, tax, payroll, transactions): you get a collective, not a lone consultant.

4. Handover. When your size justifies it, we help you recruit your in-house CFO and organise the handover. Our success is your autonomy.

Why MGI BFC

  • Profiles who have seen dozens of companies: your CFO brings observed best practices, not a single career
  • A full-service firm behind them: accounting, tax, payroll, audit, transaction advisory
  • Foreign-group habits: reporting in the parent's format and calendar, in English or French
  • A reversible, adjustable arrangement that follows your seasonality and projects
  • A firm registered with the Tunisian Order of Chartered Accountants, member of MGI Worldwide: ethics, confidentiality, professional liability

Office: Golden Tower Building B8.2, Centre Urbain Nord, 1082 Tunis. We work throughout Tunisia and remotely.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from our accountant?

Bookkeeping and filings look at the past; the part-time CFO steers the future: cash forecasts, budget, profitability, financing, decisions. The two functions are complementary, and we gladly work alongside your current bookkeeping firm.

How much time should we plan?

Depending on size and stakes: from one day a month for light steering to two or three days a week during intense phases (fundraising, turnaround, fast growth). The initial diagnostic calibrates it, and the cadence can be revised freely.

Can the CFO face our banks?

The CFO prepares the files, attends meetings at your side and speaks the bankers' language; commitments naturally remain signed by management. This preparation materially changes the quality of the banking dialogue.

Does it work for a foreign-owned subsidiary?

It is one of the most frequent cases: the parent wants a reliable local finance counterpart without the cost of an expatriate or full-time senior CFO. Group-format reporting, participation in calls, coordination with the group auditor.

How do we start?

With the diagnostic: a few days for a review and a prioritised roadmap. You then decide the cadence with full knowledge. Describe your situation through our request for proposal; a partner answers within 24 hours.
